After-death arrangements
Garden of Remembrance
The government provides eight Gardens of Remembrance, which allow the ashes of the deceased to be scattered and a commemorative plaque to be mounted in the garden. Only registered contractors can provide services in a Garden of Remembrance.A list of these contractors can be found on the FEHD website (Chinese only).
Memorial rituals may be performed at the garden and the ashes can be scattered by family members or FEHD staff.
You can apply to the Hong Kong and Kowloon Cemeteries and Crematoria Offices in person or through an authorised agent. The applicant must have the original copy of the “Permit to Take Away Cremated Ashes”. You can download the application form by clicking here.
